The Negri Foundation was created at Brescia on the 6th of December, 1993, in order to promote the photographic heritage that has been accumulated in more than a century of activity by the Negri Studio, the work of the photographers, Giovanni Negri, Umberto Negri, Constantino Squassoni and Mauro Squassoni.
The Negri Foundation office and its considerable archives of more than 100,00 images on their original large format glass negatives are housed in the original site of the Negri Studio, a splendid villa at N°7, Via Calatafimi at Brescia, which was built in1909 to plans from the architect, Egidio Dabbeni.
